Asset Overview

Loy Yang Energy consists of a base load power generator and provides input to the Victorian electricity system. The Loy Yang Power Station has a base generating capacity of 2,200MW and is located 160km east of Melbourne, Victoria in the Latrobe Valley.

It is the largest power station in Victoria - Loy Yang A accounts for approximately 25 per cent of the state's installed generation capacity and 30 per cent of Victoria's electricity requirements.

Loy Yang A continues to commit significant capital to the ongoing pursuit of emissions reductions and its four units were commissioned between July 1984 and December 1988.

In March 2010 Loy Yang A announced contracts to supply Alcoa with power until 2035

It is estimated that Loy Yang A will be capable of operating for a further [xx] years.

TSI Fund owns a 14.03 per cent stake in the power station and mine.
